Reading Inspire Workshop 

A huge thank you to those parents who attended our Reading Inspire Workshop on 20th November. It was lovely to see so many faces. We hope that the information we shared on how reading is taught at Scientia was useful, and we know that the children loved having you in their classrooms to join in with their reading lesson! We hope to hold more events like this very soon. As always, we appreciate your feedback. One parent told us: 

"The presentation was very well delivered and interesting. It is good to know what the school are doing so that children are able to enjoy reading and to help them in future assessments. It is reassuring to learn that the Read write Inc scheme is continued for those children that find reading a difficultly. It was good hear all the different things the school is doing to encourage that children read for pleasure. The tea and coffee was a welcome addition on a cold morning.”

No Pens

This year, we took part in No Pens Day. This gave children the opportunity to take part in lots of activities that encouraged different forms of communication, and helped us to raise money for Speech and Language UK. The feedback from children has been overwhelmingly positive, and they loved taking part in the biggest ever show and tell!
