Why choose School Direct?
Unlike a university led PGCE, you can select the main school you wish to train in. This means you can train locally whilst ensuring the school is the right fit for you. Our School Direct Primary PGCE is a school-led initial teacher training pathway that puts you in control. Our unique, blended programme aims to create highly qualified, highly skilled teachers, who are an integral part of a school community.
With partner schools across the country, we provide local training as part of a national network. Our training is supported by expertise from the country's largest primary only Academy Trust, REAch2 alongside the academic rigour of The University Of Derby, ranked as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. A former National Teaching School, our Lead School, Tidemill Academy is consistently ranked in the top 5% of schools for progress nationally and has been at the centre of REAch Teach development. No matter which partner school you apply to, you will join a highly supportive team that will help you develop the confidence to successfully develop as a teacher.
We have a strong track-record and since 2013, our trainees have been hugely successful. With 100% of our School Direct trainees having achieved Good or Outstanding outcomes, we know how to support and develop potential.
Applications open on 5th October 2021 via DfE Apply for Teacher Training. Early application is advised. To arrange a school visit or have a chat with one of our team contact email@example.com
